The Tidewater difference

Travel that leaves a mark

We've spent fifteen years refining the art of the small-group coastal journey. Here's what that means for you.

Intimate groups, real connection

We cap every trip at 12 guests. No herds, no strangers you never speak to — just a dozen kindred spirits sharing the same extraordinary shoreline.

Expert guides, not tour managers

Every guide holds advanced qualifications in marine biology, coastal ecology or local history — and genuine passion for their home waters.

Regenerative by design

3% of every booking funds our coastal restoration partners. We offset all transport emissions and source exclusively from local fishing and farming communities.

Food that tells a story

Freshly caught, prepared by local fishermen's families, eaten at tables with a view. Dining is never an afterthought — it's the centrepiece of each day.

Total peace of mind

Full trip insurance, 24/7 in-field support, ATOL financial protection and a flexible rebooking policy — so you can commit with complete confidence.

Photographer-friendly pacing

We chase golden hour, linger at viewpoints and build margin into every day. Return home with images that match what you experienced.

What our travellers say

Stories from the shoreline

"Swimming with sperm whales off Faial is the single most profound experience of my life. Tidewater's guide, Inês, narrated every moment with the kind of depth you only get from someone who has spent a lifetime in these waters. I cried on the boat home — in the best possible way."

"We've done adventure travel with four different companies over the years. Tidewater is in a different league. The Amalfi trip felt effortlessly curated — every guesthouse, every meal, every hidden cove felt like it had been chosen just for us. The group size made it feel genuinely personal."

"The Faroe Islands trip was genuinely bucket-list. The landscape is almost aggressively beautiful — sea stacks, waterfalls, puffins at arm's length. But what makes Tidewater different is the stillness they build into each day. You never feel rushed. That's rare in group travel."

"I travel solo and was nervous about joining a group trip. Within hours I'd found my people. By day three we were kayaking into a sea cave together at sunrise. The Tasmanian coast is raw and humbling and Tidewater's guides helped me understand it at a level I never would have on my own."
